Remove Him for Cause

Congress must invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Donald J. Trump from his office now. Why?

The President of the United States instigated insurrection against the people, our Congress, and our Constitution on 6 January 2021.

Incitement

President Trump told his supporters at the Save America rally on the Ellipse that “we’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and assault Congress.

Assault on Our Constitution

Congress, in joint session, is required by our Constitution to affirm the vote of Electors, based on the certified election results submitted by the individual states, and identify the winners of the Presidential election held in November 2020. Donald J. Trump described that action pending before the Joint Session of Congress as “the egregious assault on our democracy”.

Trump’s public statement, recorded by C-Span, is the most egregious assault on our democracy and, combined with his incitement of the crowd to intimidate the Congress overturn the vote of the Electors, merits his removal by Congress in compliance with the 25th Amendment.

Revolt

Donald J. Trump did not have the balls to march with his supporters to the Capitol, where that mob assaulted the Capitol while the House and Senate were in joint session conducting their Constitutional duty.

The Day After – Or – Mea Culpa…Not

On Thursday, 7 January 2021, President Trump released this statement through the White House deputy chief of staff for communications:

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th…I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Donald J. Trump’s promise of “an orderly transition” means not a damn thing; it is worthless—especially in light of his reassertion of the lies he has consistently maintained regarding the results of the November 2020 election. I believe his promise to continue his fight against the voters and their votes.

Congress: Do Your Duty. Execute the provisions of the 25th Amendment so that the Department of Justice can do their duty and prosecute this criminal for the insurrection he invoked.
